DelGrosso’s Amusement Park Partners with Allegheny Mountain Firefighters Initiative for Firefighter Appreciation and Recruitment Day - May 17th, 2015 at the Park

Tipton, Pennsylvania – DelGrosso’s Amusement Park is teaming up with the Allegheny Mountain Firefighters Initiative for a family friendly and educational day at the park.

Sunday, May 17, 2015 is Firefighter Appreciation and Recruitment Day at DelGrosso’s Amusement Park.  The event will be held from 11am-4pm, rain or shine.

Child friendly education sessions will take place in front of the stage area that include: how to get out of a burning building and how to operate a fire extinguisher.  Sparky the Fire Dog and Smokey Bear will be available for photo ops.  Firefighters from all around the region will be present at the park with fire gear and trucks on display.

Firefighters who first check in at the Allegheny Mountain Firefighters Initiative Tent (Located beside Pavilion #3) will get Two All-Day Fun Passes for the rides that day.  AMFI will also have information on how to become a volunteer firefighter, as well as information on educational credits and other opportunities.

“We know there is a growing need for volunteer firefighters in every community.  We hope that this partnership and educational day may help at least one fire department find a great volunteer,” says Carl Crider, Jr., President of DelGrosso’s Amusement Park.  “Each of us can do a little something to help these men and women who are willing to answer the call.”

“We are trying to get the word out about all the benefits men and women can earn by becoming a volunteer firefighter.  We have programs for tuition reimbursement, life insurance, health insurance, and turnout gear.  Volunteer fire departments need help on so many levels.  We hope this day will inspire people to help their fire company in any way possible,” says John Kane, Marketing Consultant for AMFI.  More information can be found at www.BecomeAVolunteerFireFighter.org.

DelGrosso’s Amusement Park is Open Weekends & Memorial Day in May.  An All-Day Fun Pass for the month of May is $16.95.
