Summer Thunder 2019 - A Salute to our WWII Veterans & Remembrance of the 75th Anniversary of D-Day
Tipton, Pennsylvania – The DelGrosso Family of Companies is gearing up for a summertime tradition like no other – Summer Thunder® 2019. This year’s annual fireworks extravaganza is themed as a salute to our WWII Veterans and remembrance of the 75th Anniversary of D-Day.
“Each year we like to pick a theme for our show. This year’s theme will honor the 75th Anniversary of D-Day and features the voice of a WWII Veteran,” says Joe DelGrosso, Summer Thunder® Coordinator and President of DelGrosso Foods, Inc. The soundtrack will still include patriotic favorites, but you will also hear tunes from various branches of the military and WWII-era music.
Summer Thunder® is set to a musical soundtrack that is developed by Dave Villani of Data Music Services in Altoona. A special “theme moment” in the middle of the show will feature the voice of WWII Veteran and former POW, Roger Bowers of Roaring Spring. Bowers was a combat medic with the 28th Division. He is now 95 years old and shared some of his experiences about serving his country.
The fireworks are designed by Arthur Rozzi Pyrotechnics from Maineville, OH. Members of the Rozzi Family have been designing firework shows for DelGrosso’s Park for more than 50 years. Over 4,000 shells will light up the night sky in Tipton during the 30 minute pyro-musical spectacular.
