Summer Thunder 2024
Tipton, Pennsylvania – The DelGrosso Family of Companies is gearing up for a summertime tradition like no other: Summer Thunder® 2024. This year’s annual fireworks extravaganza is themed "A Ride Through History,” a 100th Birthday Celebration of our Herschell-Spillman Carousel.
In 2024, DelGrosso's Park proudly commemorates the 100th birthday of our beloved Herschell-Spillman Carousel, a masterpiece of craftsmanship built in 1924 by the Spillman Engineering Corporation in North Tonawanda, New York. This cherished carousel is the last original ride from Fred DelGrosso's acquisition of Bland's Park in 1946. “Each year, we like to pick a theme for our show,” says Joe DelGrosso, Summer Thunder® Coordinator and President of DelGrosso Foods, Inc. “This year it seemed fitting to think about the century of memories our carousel has created for park guests. 'A Ride Through History' seemed fitting as a way to celebrate a century of smiles.”
The soundtrack will still include patriotic favorites, but you will also hear some modern-day tunes. Summer Thunder® is set to a musical soundtrack developed by Dave Villani of Data Music Services in Altoona.
The fireworks are designed by Arthur Rozzi Pyrotechnics from Maineville, OH. Members of the Rozzi Family have been designing firework shows for DelGrosso’s Park for more than 50 years. Over 2,500 shells will light up the night sky in Tipton during the 25-minute pyro-musical spectacular.
Summer Thunder® 2024 is made possible by these fine sponsors: DelGrosso Foods, Inc., Allied Milk Producers, Burgmeier Hauling, First Commonwealth Bank, Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, Imler’s Poultry, Stuckey GMC, Froggy 98.1, and WTAJ-TV.
